At times we know the truth but we choose to ignore it. Why? Because we know the truth is contrary to what is comfortable. We know the truth goes against tradition and culture at times. We know the truth is a hard pill to swallow. So what do we do? Pretend that we are ignorant and move on with out lives not knowing that we are in the bondage of a lie. What if everything we did was truthful? I’m not talking about simple things like making up a lie about where you were last night or giving out a fake number. I’m talking about some deep truths including being true to ourselves. We pretend that we are victims, watching ourselves from the outside not being true. We fall into the mundane activities of the word that are viewed as traditional knowing that it goes against everything we stand for and blatantly goes against what God has said but we are okay with that. We are okay with being average conformists. We are okay with not “rocking the boat”. We don’t want to offend anyone. If being and living in truth offends someone then what has become of our society. Society has become soft. God forbid a parent disciplines their child when the Word clearly says “Whoever spares the rod hates their children, but the one who loves their children is careful to discipline them: Proverbs 13:24 NIV.

It is time for us to stop being LIARS. Stop living in a live. Stop conforming but be TRANSFORMED by the renewing of your mind. Renewing your mind involves stripping away some of those traditions you are use to. It requires some offense in order to be in truth. Jesus was NOT popular. A lot of people didn’t like him and if as CHRISTians we should be LIKE CHRIST and not seek fulfillment through the approval of man. Do you think Jesus was thinking “Oh no I can’t say that because people won’t like me and I might get kicked out of the church if I say it”. Not at all. He was about his father business.

I can say that personally, like many other people,  some aspects of my life has been based off of what I was taught and traditions. There were times that I found truth but chose to ignore and forget it because I was told that these things were absolutes.  I also have been influenced by man to not go against the grain and to conform and worry about others opinions. In finding myself and finding truth I have come to realize the responsibility and graveness of living in the TRUTH and living for God truly without religion or tradition. Some things simply are not biblical and we should not be practicing them and in practicing them we are abolishing God’s commandments and giving in to false doctrine BUT no more.

Wake up people! Wake up children of God! Stop wondering in the wilderness, lost, going in circles. God has given us the truth and the truth will set us free from this bondage the world has placed us in. Answer me this: when was the last time you heard someone talk about God outside of church and a religious setting? When was the last time you ministered to a stranger? When was the last time someone said NO I will no believe that and I do not agree because it goes against the Word of God? It’s time to step on people’s toes and make people uncomfortable. When God told us to be meek he did not mean let people disrespect and run all over us. We are becoming weak and God has made us strong, POWERFUL people so let’s be powerful. Let’s be that 100 watt lightbulb shining light in every dark place. Let’s fight this battle that we are suppose to be in and stop sitting on the sidelines in fear. Let us be in truth and share the truth of the God.
