Letter to My Future Husband

Dear Future Husband,

I don’t know where you are or who you are but let me first tell you that I am not your better half and I am not your priority. It sounds harsh when I put it that way but let me explain it to you. You are a whole person who compliments me as a whole person. God did not create neither intend for us to be half people. I have spent this time before meeting you becoming a whole person. I am not saying that I have it all together or that I or that I figured myself all the way out but I know that I am fearfully and wonderfully made in God’s image to grow and become the woman God has me to be. My past has defined me and strengthened me. It has taught me many things in my failures and has turned me to God to make me whole. So I love you, all of you, the whole you.

Always keep God first and I will always do the same. Do not spend your days thinking of me but thinking on the things of God. Seek God and everything He has for us will fall into place. Love me by loving God. Help me be a better person by walking in righteousness. When dark clouds come, face the wall and cry out to God as Hezekiah did in Isaiah 38:2. Study the Word with me, pray with me, praise with me, and intercede for me. I know that God has sent you to me to be a powerful couple in Him. Favor doubled. We will go out into the nations and spread God’s word. We will follow God wherever He leads. The calling on your life is so powerful and compliments the calling on my life. Together, God will be glorified.

I pray that God will keep me strong to always guide you towards truth and understanding. Times will not always be easy and adversity will come. The enemy will attack us because of who we are in Christ. The traps of the enemy will not prevail because we know that the victory is already won. I will get on your nerves, I will make you mad, I will push your buttons, annoy you, the whole nine yards. Just remember to show me the same grace and mercy God shows us and I will do the same.

My love for you is agape, the strongest. I love you because you love God. We know without a doubt that God matched us spirit and soul. We know our purpose and mission for God. God is and will always be the center of our marriage. With that fact, I know that I will always be secure, safe, and loved. Our children will know love because we are the example of what loving God is. Thank you for teaching me what love is and reminding to always keep my eyes on the Father.
