I’ve made a lot of bad decisions in my life that have cost me. The biggest problem is the I was the one who was running the show. I chose to live my life a particular way and selfishly gain the things that I desired meanwhile God was sitting back like a perfect gentleman, waiting for me to come to my senses. The phrase “out of control” is often taken negatively but what if we were out of control as in giving all control to God. Life can be less effort if we let go. Yes, it can be said that it is cliche to say “Let go, Let God” but it is true. If that is the mantra I have to say outlaid everyday to remind myself that all power is God’s, I will do it no matter how cliche it is.
My mission is to turn off my power and turn on God’s. What better life to live than one that is fully controlled by God. But let’s talk about this trust issue. Man has distorted my trust but why does God have to pay for something that man did to me? God’s promises always stand- I will never leave you nor forsake you, I will never put more on you than you can bear, etc. There is no reason not to trust God, yet it is such a big issue to do so. I personally know that I have a control issue. Some call it being a control freak. If you want it done right, do it yourself mentality. As a human being, I am naturally not capable of doing it right without God. So, if you want something done right, do it through God should be the shift in our mentality.
When do we consciously throughout the day ask God about the decisions we make? From the simplest thing as what to eat to should I buy a home. Entrusting God with our lives should not be this difficult. The word says “Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?” Matthew 6:25. While we are worrying over nothing, God is saying I got you. We are to focus not on our lives and the decisions we make, God does that. We are to focus on what God has for us to do. Worry and not trusting God only distracts us from doing His business and living a life of servitude. You know who we are serving when we worry, ourselves. The focus is all about me. That’s not God and He made this life to be lived stress-free yet a majority of us stress everyday.
I am going to make a conscious effort to just let go and trust God. Stress is killing me slowly and its time to bask in the glory of God. Everything doesn’t have to be so hard. Will hard times come, yes, but will we be defeated, only if we do not trust God. So trust is not a maybe it should be an absolute for a victorious life.
